Updated: Jan 23, 2022

The Zögghof is a panoramic family campsite set on a steep mountain slope in the St. Leonhard in Passeier in South Tyrol. The camp is adapted for year-round operation. There are an average of a remarkable 300 sunny days a year. With five terraces with individual habitats, all campsites offer fantastic views of the valley. It is a place people do not want to leave and they like to return here. The camp is located on the signpost of popular hiking trails. The Zögghof is designed for family mountain hiking and cycling. In winter, it is a short walk from the cable car to the ski slope or the cross-country ski run.

A relaxed atmosphere breathes right at the reception. The feeling of pleasant personal care accompanies you throughout your stay. At the campsite you can have a quality espresso or an afternoon aperitif like Aperol-Spritz on the terrace in a small bar with perfect views. Alternatively, you can rent e-bikes for a mountain trip. The facilities in the camp are modern and kept permanently clean. In the vicinity of the camp is a sports center Sport Arena with an outdoor heated pool and a small water park for children and adults, with a water slide and many other sports activities such as a jumping area on trampolines or a climbing wall. There is also a climbing wall, a beach volleyball court, a bowling alley, tennis courts and much more.

In the camp itself, there are almost forty places for motorhomes and caravans, as well as places with a soft lawn for family tents. This ranks the camp among smaller, but perfectly organized places. It is an ideal starting point for trips to the surrounding mountain scenery. It is suitable for more sporty families and nature lovers who want to enjoy moving in the mountains in the fresh air. The picturesque Italian town of San Leonardo is around a 10-minute drive from the campsite. Here you can get everything you need in two shops, as well as an ATM or a good restaurant. After all, three good restaurants are within walking distance of the camp and it is definitely worth a try.

The most beautiful trips and tips in the area

Passerdamweg

The camp is located on the outskirts of the town of Edam. The name of the town originated from the connection "dam" = a dam on the river called "E". The history of Edam is mainly associated with the craft of building and repairing ships for nearby Amsterdam. In the 17th century there were 33 shipyards and Edam also paid for the famous whaling port. The city is famous for its excellent hard cheese. If you want to correct your opinion about our Czech Eidam, be sure to try it. Edam is imbued with water canals and mechanical, manually operated bridges. Every Wednesday from July to August, traditional cheese markets have been held here since the 16th century, where up to a quarter of a million rounds of cheese have been sold annually during the biggest boom in cheese production.

Culinary tips around

Three restaurants within walking distance.

Sport Arena Passeier

This restaurant is right next to the campsite and is therefore the easiest to reach. It has a really excellent menu, the food is healthy, varied and beautifully arranged.

We recommend trying it. Angus steaks, pasta, salads, as well as Czech classics in the form of Viennese steak or butcher's board are famous here.

Brückenwirt

A small craft brewery and an excellent pizzeria.

They bake excellent pizza in a wood-fired oven and use quality homemade yeast for the dough. It is also possible to request a wholemeal dough. Definitely worth a try. Homemade pasta is also excellent.

Pizzeria Weinstube

Restaurant with a great atmosphere. Delicious pizza and friendly service. There are also various homemade dishes, salads and good beer. There is also a beautiful garden.
