Austria - Ötztaler Naturcamping

Ötztaler Naturcamping is an excellent family camp in the middle of the mountains with an extremely friendly atmosphere. It is located in the Ötztal Valley, on the edge of the Tyrolean village of Huben. The place is surrounded by alpine mountain giants, which rise to a height of two and a half thousand meters above sea level. As the crow flies, the Wildspitze mountain, about 15 km away, is even about 3770 m long and is thus the highest peak in the local Ötztal Alps. For a more sporty family, this place in the summer brings opportunities especially for mountain hiking, trips to the surroundings and cycling, because it lies on a bike path. In winter, it offers numerous opportunities for downhill skiing and other snow fun.

About the Camp

The camp is characterized by a combination of family traditions and openness to innovation. The Kuprian family has been following 100 years for traditions such as Monday's baking of Tyrolean bread without using electricity at the local mill. Grandfather Kuprian already operated a coaching inn with a camp here. You will know the openness to innovations brought about by new generations at every step. To illustrate, in addition to all conceivable caravan connections, you can expect that pastries can also be ordered online. You can also look forward to top-quality sanitary facilities and generally interesting family camping opportunities.

When we were heading here in 2019 for the first time with only a tent, the weather reported thunderstorms and torrential rains for the weekend. With a smile, the owners helped us move the reservation to September. This random story nicely illustrates the cordial attitude and interest of the Kuprian family in making you really enjoy your holiday with them. In the camp, you can recognize it literally at every step. On the contrary, everything that could be fooled here is invented, realized and subsequently maintained with extraordinary taste and care. Everything is also great clean and well organized.

The village of Huben is a small and a bit sleepy alpine village, but the bike path to Sölden is very nice from here. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet and well-equipped camp friendly to families with children, also with a relaxed atmosphere and mountain views, and if helpful and friendly staff is important to you, as well as cleanliness and comfort, you will also enjoy it.

The new bathroom building is beautiful and modern. If its capacity is not enough, there is a large additional building, where it is always clean and enough space even at full camping.

In terms of comfort, the camp provides everything you need for a comfortable stay - from a washing machine to a ski dryer, from a coffee machine to a dishwasher. The camp is covered by a functional Wifi network for guests free of charge. The campsite offers free breakfast pastries, which can be ordered online and picked up at reception in the morning.

A traditional ritual popular with both children and adults is Monday's baking of bread, where the flour is ground in the original mechanical mill using water propulsion instead of electricity. The camp also hosts barbecues every season, which is a welcome social and culinary event for all ages.
