Denmark - Møns Klint

Møns Klint is a coastal cliff in the east of the Danish island of Møn, which is part of the village Vordingborg. The Cretaceous cliff is 6 kilometers long and reaches a height of 128 meters above sea level, so it offers a breathtaking view of the sea. It is such a photogenic place with a magical atmosphere that it has attracted the attention of Danish artists since time immemorial and is still one of the most visited tourist destinations in Denmark. White rocks, azure sea, red seaweed and dark green forests - this is Møns Klint.

About the camp

To our surprise, it is possible to camp in the immediate vicinity of the comfortable Camp Møns Klint area. The higher price range is balanced by top quality and hospitality. The place attracts to the beautiful night sky and beautiful sunsets. If you are lucky with the weather, you will see the starry sky above your head, similar to the once Prussian philosopher Immanuel Kant.

Camp Møns Klint is very child-friendly, it offers a large park for them, which will not surprise us so much in the land of the inventors of LEGO cubes. The camp equipment offers a hotel standard and is open to all types of camping - caravans, dwellings and popular family tents (for example, ours from another Danish brand Outwell). Everything is perfectly arranged in the camp, from the possibility to order breakfast to e-bike rental. A huge bonus is the helpful staff, which takes care of the comfort of visitors to number one. They will gladly advise on trips to the surroundings and help with any wishes. Thanks to them, there is a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in the camp and people like to return here. You can get here from Prague in about 10 hours, including the ferry ride.

Camp Møns Klint is set in hilly terrain and is surrounded by lush forest and nature. The individual parts of the camp are naturally separated by terrain and mature flora, you feel that you are only here with a few other families, although in fact it is quite a spacious camp. The campsites are beautiful. Most campsites are perfectly flat and suitable for parking motorhomes and caravans, despite the winding terrain. Mover definitely fits. On foot from the camp there are not many more options for cliffs (a few tens of minutes). At Møns Klint, the numbered sites are not separated from each other as in other places. You can find your place classically in agreement with the camp staff, who will be happy to accommodate you. It is possible to connect the caravan to water and electricity upon agreement.

Before the season (May) and after the season (September) the camp is quieter and more quiet, in the high season there is a pleasant buzz.

Camping equipment

There is a small shop in the camp, where you can also get homemade bread. Next to the reception is an excellent pizzeria. The camp has a beautiful swimming pool and children's pool. The campsite management is kind and very friendly, as are all the staff. If you like to cook, you have the opportunity to pick herbs in the common flower garden with fresh herbs. There is also a large communal kitchen, dining room and washroom, which inspires you to talk. A washer and dryer and other equipment are included. The camp offers a tennis court, a football pitch, a ping pong table, mini golf and, of course, a large children's playground, as befits a proper camp in Denmark.

We definitely recommend early booking, this is one of the most popular campsites in Denmark. Wifi is available at the reception. The fact that everything is included in the basic fee balances its higher price. You can order fresh pastries to order.

The sanitary buildings at Camp Møns Klint are equipped with state-of-the-art sanitary facilities of a high aesthetic and hygienic standard. Sanitary buildings also have pleasant underfloor heating, which is good in the north. There are plenty of showers and bathrooms. Due to Nordic customs, it is necessary to add that everything is already included in the basic price and you do not have to look for any shower tokens. The sanitary equipment is perfectly clean and well cared for. Great attention is paid to details.

Activities for children:

For children there is a playground in Camp Møns Klint or if you want - activities park with a trampoline. Also a heated pool suitable for children, mini golf and many other activities. You can also go for walks from the campsite and go cycling or jogging together on the local cycle paths. The place is surrounded by beautiful forests. In the camp you can make a campfire and roast something with your children. When going on cliffs, please pay close attention to choosing the right path and the safety of children.

Geocentre Møns Klint

The place is at the intersection of hiking and biking trails. Not far from Camp Møns Klint is the Geocentrum. It is located near the chalk cliffs. The museum was opened in 2007 by Queen Margrethe.

Several hundred steps lead from the Møns Klint cliff to the sea. Situated at Møns Klint Cliff, the geocentre allows children to play archaeologist or geologist. The museum and café are only open during the summer season.

Culinary tips in the area

In general, Denmark is not a place where we would go primarily for culinary experiences, but there are exceptions. In any case, we try to secure most of the food with us when we travel north, so that we don't have to deal with it much on the spot.
